Pics from Pennsylvania

Here's a few pics of our little trip to PA! I wanted to take some pics of some scotters that the Amish use, but there was a big sign saying "No Photos". So I behaved myself. The buggy pic I took because no one was in it. The Amish don't like to be photographed.

Pic of the One Room school house, John and I with the great PA scenery in the background and John with his Amish birdhouse that we found on the road stand. We bought it using the honor system with the money bucket right next to the birdhouses. Yes, we left the $6 for the birdhouse!

It was a great trip!

Amish Country Vacation

John, Kaylee and myself went to PA for a four day mini-vacation to get away from it all. We had a great time. Did some shopping in Amish country, went to Hershey Chocolate World (yummy) and saw alot of buggies, scotters and quilts! As soon as I find my camera I'll load some pics!

We drove around the Amish country side which was beautiful. Its much greener there and they are mowing their lawns. (Or should I say, the woman are mowing the lawns)! We saw alot of hand push mowers being used. Saw the one room school houses with the kids outside playing baseball. Make you think how they do it without electricity, tv, computers, phones. Could we?

Heading to Pennsylvania

John, Kaylee and myself are heading to PA for a little visit. We need to get out of dodge as they say. We are staying in Lancaster amongst the Amish. I hope to find another Amish wallhanging for the living room. Kay, of course, wants to go to Hershey and get some chocolate!

We had a great Easter spent with my Dad's sister, Linda and her family. My sister, Brenda and her gang were up from Maryland which was nice. Here's a pic of my kids and Bren's kids!

Grateful for ...

I've read some blogs where people are to write 5 things that make you mad or fuzzed about. Well, instead of writing about what makes me mad I thought I'd write about what I'm grateful for. My sister, Sharon and I email each other everyday (or try to) and we write 3 things we are grateful for.

Today mine are:

1. Children are healthy.
2. My husband still has a job. They've had two lay-offs recently.
3. Free fabric so I can make some goodies.
