I can't believe summer has ended and its now time for the kids to get back to school. Now, though, I have to say back to college! Jared will be heading back for his second year at college. Kaylee is technically a senior in high school, but instead will be a freshman at college. She's doing a program called duel-enrollment. She will do all her classes at our local college and not have to go back to high school ever again! Yipeee!!!
High school has not been kind to Kaylee at all with all the girl clicks! Yes, girls are very mean! I don't ever remember being that mean in high school. So we are praying that she will meet new people who have the same passions as she does. Here's a pic of them when we were on vacation this summer.
Next year this time I'll be sending both of them away to school and we'll have an empty nest! Oh boy! Changes in the Grant House for sure!
Hope everyones first day of school goes smooth! Have a great day!

New Tote
New Tote! I love it! I got the pattern from Youcanmakethis.com! It's so easy and the instructions were awesome! Maybe some friends will be getting one of these for Christmas.
I got a book, Quilt for Peace, a while ago and started a project from it yesterday. Preemie Pinwheel Quilt. Small quilt for babies that are born premature. You can check out the website: www.newbornsinneed.org! Great organization

Patriots Football Game
John and I went to the first Patriots preseason football game this past week. Actually, my first football game ever! We went with 10 other people in a camper. We had a blast! We got there about 3 hrs before the game and tailgated. What a spread! Then after the game, they cooked more burgers and dogs to absorb some of the liquid we consumed the previous 6 hours! LOL
Here's John and I when I was talking on the phone with our son, Jared. He called and wanted to know what time we would be home? Do we have a curfew????

Swap Gift
I signed up for a swap on Dandelion Quilts for a tote bag. Here's my goodie from Katie! I absolutely love it! Love the colors, grommets and cute buttons. Thank you, Katie!
Here are two books that I'm reading. The Craft Hope book has wonderful projects to do and donate to wonderful charities. Right now, Craft Hope, is asking people to make pillowcases for ConKerr Cancer. A great organization that makes pillowcases for children with cancer.
The other book, Sisters on the Fly, is a fun read. In the book, it shows 1950's, 1960's campers that have been brought back to life and being used for camping. How fun with that be! We recently sold our 29' camper because it was too big...I wonder? Definately a book for the husband to look through!
I have the next few days off from work, so I'm hoping to do some sewing, scrapping and reading. Hope everyone is having a great day!

New Tote Bag
I bought this pattern, Mini Bow Tucks by Penny Sturges, about a year ago on a trip to Pennsylvania. It came in a kit with all the material. I put it away and forgot all about it until last weekend and finally finished it this weekend!
I even have enough material left over to make a wallet to match. It was a very easy pattern to read and might have to make more for Christmas gifts.
I'd like to make a Schnibbles quilt, but need to find patterns for them first. None of the quilt stores around here have ever heard of them!
